We all used public wifi, free of cost more than once.Maybe it's metro, airport,cafe, your institution or somewhere else. It may be taken as a free service of the corporation by many people, but there might be someone trying to seek your passwords and some of your personal information. This type of attack is known as man in the middle attack.  "the problem with the wireless transmission of data is that the waves are travelling through air so anybody having a receiver can have this information" It might be disturbing to know that majority of the people prefer Wifi over good food.
